The rapidly increasing digitalization, automation, and widespread use of CBS (Computer-Based Systems) on ships have made cybersecurity an integral part of operational safety. Accordingly, new standards have been set by classification societies and the Cyber Resilience notation has been enforced as a mandatory requirement.

S: Which ships does this apply to?
As of July 1, 2024, it is mandatory for all unrestricted navigation passenger vessels and all unrestricted navigation cargo vessels over 500 gross tons that have a new construction contract signed between the shipyard and the shipowner.
S: Which documents need to be prepared under the Cyber Resilience notation?
The following documents must be approved by the classification society under the notation scope.

- Zones and Conduits Diagram
- Cyber Security Design Description
- Ship Cyber Resilience Test Procedure
- Risk Assessment
